Walking along the Beach of Thessaloniki, we met the Fishermen of Thermaic Gulf.
Amateur fishermen have increased lately and they seem to enjoy their favourite hobby under the hot Greek sun.
Is the fishing, however, just a hobby for them or meets also their need of feeding?
According to the Fishermen, the fishes of Thermaic Gulf, are the tastiest! Depending on the season and the weather conditions, there is a wide variety of catch.
However, there are few publications that refer to the transferred pollution from Axios river, that is shipped from the Land of Skopje. Also, according to AUTH's research, ingredients such heavy metals, pesticides and urban sewage have been reported that are poured in the sea and threaten the biodiversity.
