Meeting between the Board of the International Confederation of Pontian Greeks and Evangelos Venizelos
On Friday, September 12th , 2014 at 11:30 a.m. the Bureau of the International Confederation of the Pontian Greeks composed of: the President George Parharidis, the General Secretary Ioannis Antoniadis, Varitimiadi Sultana and Varithimiadis Giorgos (Executive Secretary), met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Evangelos Venizelos.
Mr. Parcharidis after making a brief overview of the International Confederation of the Pontian Greeks, their objectives and their actions, he focused on issues about the international recognition of the Genocide of the Greeks of Pontos, the organisation of the World Conference Genocide in Thessaloniki in the spring of 2015, the major issue of safety of the Greeks in Ukraine and the problems of the new refugees and Ecumenical Pontian Hellenism.
The conversation took place in a good ambiance. Opinions, suggestions, and ideas from both sides were deposit in oder to solve the above problems. The Minister of Affairs, Mr. Evangelos Venizelos was positive in the majority of the raised issues and promised moral and material support.
