"Aspros Potamos" is an eco- frendly guesthouse in South Crete.
The 300-year old, restored guesthouse of Aspros Potamos features authentic Cretan accommodation with a furnished terrace overlooking the valley and Pefki Gorge.
The houses built of stones and gravel are situated on different levels and a paved path full of vines, olives and flowers joins them together giving visitors the feeling that they are staying in a traditional village in south-eastern Crete.
Stone beds, traditional fireplaces and other items decorating the interior of the room and make a scene that looks from another era.
It is worth noting that the overall functioning of the guesthouse is exclusively based on a photovoltaic system, which has won the first European prize for Greece.
Candles and oil lamps are used as the main lighting and the photovoltaic system provides enough electricity to run a refrigerator and a low voltage light bath in every home.
