The Greek team from Thessaloniki came first at the ESC Cardiology Quiz
The Greek team from Thessaloniki came first at the ESC Cardiology Quiz, during the annual meeting of the Pan-European Society of Cardiology in Barcelona from August 30 to September 3.

The team consists of the Professor of Cardiology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the team leader Haralambos Karvounis, the Associate Professor of Cardiology in the AUTH Giorgos Sianos, the Lecturer of Cardiology in the AUTH Giorgos Giannakoulas, the two scientific partners of A' Heart Clinic of AHEPA, Apostolis Tzikas, Vasilis Kamperidis and the intern Thomas Gosios.

The team of the A' Cardiology Department of AHEPA Hospital of Thessaloniki, prevailed over the team of Bakulev Scientific Centre of Moscow, which was the last winner in the Quiz and the team of Royal Brompton Hospital in London.

The Quiz is organized for three consecutive years, and the questions concern the instructions of the European Society of Cardiology for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

The instructions are updated according to the scientific developments and the Quiz consists of questions related to the understanding and implementation of these directives.

The advantage of the Greek team against the other teams is the good knowledge of general cardiology and the good comprehending of the European directives

The Greek team will take part in the Quiz that will be organized next year in London and will compete with two teams from recognized clinics in different countries.
