EOF: Great potential for Greece in the medical congress tourism
The last four years the number of medical conferences held in Greece has oktaplasiastei, giving significant revenues in the tourism business and added value in Greek scientific community. This stressed during the workshop organized by the Organisation to a new cycle efforts to attract international conferences in our country.
The driving force of the economy could be a congress tourism in our country.
Specifically, in 2011 took place in Greece only 6 conferences and the following year 15. These numbers have more than doubled in the year 2013, and made 34 international conferences, while this year the number of international conferences has exceeded 50 (until the end of November).
The perspectives of congress tourism by attracting major international scientific conferences in Greece, undertakes to highlight the EOF, and as the first initiative meeting was organized for this purpose. Among the speakers, the president of EMEA Mr. Dimitrios Lintzeris the cardiology professor at the University of Crete and Director of Cardiology PAGNI, v. President of the European Society of Cardiology Mr. Panagiotis Bardas, the coordinator Director of Cardiology Asclepius Voula, president of the International Congress of Hypertension 2014 Mr. Athanasios Manolis and professor of cardiology Peter Nihoyiannopoulos.
