The General Police Directorate Thessaloniki advises citizens in cases of bad weather, be especially careful in their movements.

In this context recommends that pedestrians:

Prefer for their journeys by public transport.
Avoid walking in parts of streets and sidewalks where frost.

Furthermore, drivers:

To ensure their vehicles have snow chains.
Always use snow chains where there are special traffic conditions (frost, etc.).
Always wear your seat belt.
Be informed about the weather and road conditions if you are going to travel.
To verify the proper operation of their vehicle systems.
Ensure that they are provided with enough fuel.
Reduce speed and allow sufficient distance to the vehicle ahead to be able to stop safely.
Do not brake suddenly it is likely to divert their course. In the same way to work and when to speed up or twist.
Have lighted headlights to be more easily understood, especially where there is little visibility.
To keep the lights and wipers on their vehicle always clean.
To drive at low speed to have the ability to control their vehicle.
Be especially careful when crossing bridges, overpasses and roads that are not lively.
If driving on a rural road, avoid the snowy dirt roads.
