An exhibit recounts
The actions entitled "An exhibit recounts" in the Museum of Byzantine Culture are thematic tours specially designed for targeted visitors of the museum presenting less known aspects of Byzantine culture through selected objects of permanent exhibition, with special interest.
In the second part, garments and textiles tell their story and take us to the past. We learn about clothing in Byzantium, the clothing of the imperial couple, officials and aristocrats, but also for that of the lower classes. We discover together weaving techniques, the purchase cost of fabrics / garments, and professions connected with the above.
The tour preceding a few minutes viewing on "Clothes in Byzantium" in the auditorium "Melina Mercouri".
Dates tour a half: 24/2, 9/3, 21/4, 5/5, 19/5 and 2/6 at 24:00
Duration of tour: 60'
Maximum number of people: 20 (first come first served)
