The Sani Festival, a celebration of music, which began in 1993 to establish itself after 22 years of continuous presence as an organization with a high profile and distinctive mark on the cultural map of our country, acquiring along the way and international impact, hopefully heading in the 23rd Our organization was sweeping away the magic.

Especially now known internationally for the weekend tribute on the world scene of jazz, through the theme "Jazz on the Hill", the Sani Festival was identified as a music festival and mainly, with clear themes, embracing musical styles sometimes not "commercial" while on the road flirted with other arts, which interact with music.

For the 23rd edition of the summer festival of music, the Artistic Director of the Sani Festival, Olga Tabouri-Mpampali, talking about this year's program, stresses that erected a program interwoven with the philosophy and the festival's main objectives,
 
• bridging the country's main pillars of development, those of culture and tourism,
 
• highlighting the basic value of cultural decentralization through high quality artistic events
 
• developing a dialogue of artistic creation and expression through effective communication -gigenon people and foreign visitors region- through art
 
• linking quality entertainment to the cosmopolitan character of a varied, elaborate tourist products
 
It is a program structured in modules main ingredient exclusive engagements emerging, and established artists of the world music scene, but also the emergence of Greek contemporary music creation.

In this spirit, the aim of planning for this year's edition of "Jazz on the Hill" is the introduction to the audience of internationally acclaimed artists of jazz, a theme that concerns male jazz vocalists.

Four male musicians and virtuosos of the genre, the Chris Potter, Dave Holland, Lionel Loueke and Eric Harland will open the curtain of this year's "Jazz on the Hill", an introduction to thoroughbred improvisational jazz. (11/7)

Afterwards, Hugh Coltman, o proposed rising star of this year's section of Jazz on the Hill, in the first and exclusive appearance in Greece, who will present the Sani Hill his new project, the covers of Nat King Cole songs with which he grew up and naturally loved. (17/7)



The theme of Jazz on the Hill closes with an artist-cultural symbol in the US. The winning oftentimes with Grammy Kurt Elling, one of the most famous jazz vocalists with many awards and prizes and one of the greatest singers of jazz in us- age rises to Sani Hill for a unique concert in Greece. A major musical personality, one of the leading and famous representatives of world music, the Salif Keita, will be represented with a special acoustic project type in the thematic "Sounds of the World". (31/7)

Finally, three special concerts, the content of which highlights the Greek creation as a whole through poetry, literature and music, will compose the section "Greek Variations".

From the Greek music scene will admire the "Play" with Elli Paspala and Vassilikos (25/7), Dimitra Galani in a unique audiovisual project entitled "Chronos" (8/8) a cartel of Philip Pliatsikas with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki in a musical performance entitled "The Other Side of Greece" (14/8).
