Hellenic Red Cross signs memorandum of understanding with Emirates Red Crescent
On 18 May, the Hellenic Red Cross (HRC) President Dr. Antonios Avgerinos signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretary General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC). The agreement foresees that the ERC supports in the setup of a relocation centre with 200 shelter units at a government assigned area in Koutsochero in the region of Larisa.
The Hellenic Red Cross, as a supporter of the Greek government, will facilitate the smooth implementation of the project by acting as a coordinator and facilitator between the Greek authorities and the Emirates Red Crescent regarding the technical equipment of the camp, the provision of infrastructure services etc. The manufacturing and delivery costs of the shelters will be fully covered by the Emirates Red Crescent.
