Legion Run - Again in Athens Bigger, Better, Wetter and Different!

On September 13th the well-known Legion Run returns to Athens and according to the organizers it will be “Bigger, Better, Wetter and definitely Different”. The organizers’ intention to offer a different experience this year is obvious starting from the fact that the event will take place in a different location than last year. The event will take place in Alykes Anavyssou with the support of Saronikos Municipality.
“After a successful tour in the Southern and Central Europe in 2014, which made us wiser and more creative, we kicked off the 2015 Tour in April from Cyprus with great success and Athens has its turn in September. We want to offer the same unique and intense experience that will stay for months and years in someone’s memory, but at the same time we want to make it different than last year. The most significant change is the change in location, which is a place that offers great possibilities for an awesome obstacle course! We have also added new obstacles that have been featured in the European events as well as, obstacles that will be featured for the first time in the Athens event.”, says Antonis Alexopoulos, PhD, Legion Run’s Communications Director.
For those who have not heard about Legion Run, Legion run is a five kilometer run/walk with world-class obstacles of mud, fire, barbed wire, that offers an ‘once in a lifetime” experience to people of all levels of physical fitness and ability, due to its non-competitive nature. The obstacles are placed on a five kilometer route and are designed in a way to challenge both body and mind, since the runners have to jump over fire, climb over walls, crawl through mud and under barbed wire and go through tanks of iced water. After the completion of the run, the participants can celebrate their success with their friends and relatives with live music, food, drinks and fun games and competitions. The unique combination of body and mental challenges, inevitable teamwork during the run, together with live music, fun games, food and drinks are a proven recipe for an amazing day in all the cities Legion Run has been and the organizers aim to offer the same amazing experience on September 13th 2015.
